Why do I want to remove muck?
As a pond ages, it accumulates sediment or muck on the bottom. The muck promotes weed and algae growth. Killing weeds and algae with chemicals increases the sediment.
What do I do with the muck?
Spread it as fertilizer or use it as fill.
How long does it take for the muck to dry?
2 days to 2 months
Does the pump remove golf balls?
A strainer prevents golf balls from entering the pump. They remain in the pond.
Do I need a permit?
Not if the pond is less than 10 acres and the sediment is pumped outside the lake or pond.
